Here’s What’s Happening Around the Neighborhood this Month
Yoga Class at the Village Club Fridays at 10am
Join your neighbors at the Village Club for Yoga with Allison Coulter starting this Friday at 10am. Alison is an advanced 500 hour yoga alliance certified yoga teacher. This class will be an all levels yoga class in the downstairs area of the Village Club. Some experience is helpful but not necessary. The class will be structured so that everyone can enjoy the many benefits of yoga. Each pose has variations, allowing everyone to do the class at a level that suits them. You are encouraged to bring props, a yoga block, strap and yoga blanket. You can Google Amazon- yoga props. They are also available at Walmart.

Tuesday 12/10 PO KE NO is CANCELLED for DECEMBER
Hey Pokeno players. We are going to skip playing Pokeno in December due to hectic schedules. We will resume on the second Tuesday in January 2020. That will be January 14th at 7:00 at the Village Club. For those who have not tried it – Pokeno is an easy game combining a deck of cards and bingo cards. Everyone is welcome to join us! Wednesdays 12/11 Men’s Bible Study at the Village Club 6:30-8pm
The study is for all levels of Christians and specifically for anyone who wants to learn, no matter his knowledge base or spiritual situation. New Christians and searchers are especially welcome. This will be non-denominational in format with special attention paid to differences in theology, if necessary. The classes will be as intense as the class desires. The goal is to grow in Christ. Thursday 12/12 Ladies Meet & Greet at the Village Club 7pm
Ladies Meet and Greet is the second Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage, a small snack to share, and mingle with your neighbors!
Thursday 12/12 Pampered Chef Party at 167 Glade Spring Drive 6:30pm
You’re invited to a Cooking Show party with Angela Leon on Thursday, December 12th at 6:30pm at 167 Glade Spring Drive. Mark your calendar and invite a friend or two! Get ready to learn recipes and tips to make mealtimes simple and stress-free. Don’t miss out on the fun!
Friday 12/13 Drinks in the Driveway from 5:30-7:30pm
Come enjoy the new SRC monthly event Drinks in the Driveway every 2nd Friday of the month! Jump on your golf cart, walk over, or drive to the neighbor of the month for adult and kid friendly beverages. You can bring your own beverage of course, but drinks and light snacks will be provided by the host. This is a great way to meet new neighbors, commune with those that you know, and have a delicious beverage! Each month a SRC community neighbor can choose to host the event in their driveway. This month will be held by Olivia Cooley and Charles Pulliam at 658 Tailwater Bend. Sign up to host Drinks in the Driveway at your house, e-mail Charles Pulliam at charles@oliviacooley.com.

Monday 12/16 Adult Board Game Night at the Village Club 7pm

Tuesday 12/17 Ladies Bunco at the Village Club 7pm
Come for a night of fun with the ladies of SRC who get together on the 3rd Tuesday of every month to play bunco. We start arriving @ 7pm and play till 8:30. Bring $5 for the winner’s pot……never played, don’t worry, there are a few veterans to teach the rules and get the games started. Thursday 12/19 Men’s Night POKER GAME at the Village Club 7pm
POKER GAME!!! Lose a few old presidents & win some new friends. Low stakes, High fun. No experience preferred. Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.
Friday 12/20 Boomers & Beyond Christmas Party at the Village Club 5:30pm
This month we’re celebrating the Holidays. Wear your Holiday Attire and bring your beverage of your choice. We will have a catered dinner by Kristin’s Kitchen. The cost will be $25 per person cash only. Reservations and payment must be made by Sunday, December 8th. Take your cash, correct change only please, to Nancy Krebs 522 Bimini Twist Circle 803-466-5199. You may leave your cash under the front mat.
Saturday 12/21 Christmas with Elvis at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 7pm
Bring your favorite holiday dish to share and your dancing shoes! Elvis will certainly entertain us and will also DJ for us so we can get our groove on. We will also need to see if we can identify neighbors who may have some patio lamps in the event it’s super cold. If you have some tables, and/or chairs you can share, please let me know. I’m looking for volunteers who can help decorate, setup and clean up. Please email Tammy Graham at tsgraham@mac.com or call/text her at 803-319-4031 if you are open to helping out. One last item, if you have family in town during the party, please bring them! This party is open to neighbors and friends. 🙂
Sunday 12/22 Chili, Crafts, and Caroling at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 5pm
Come join your neighbors for Chili, Crafts, and Caroling on Sunday December 22nd from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. We are in for a treat…a special craft with the children will be sponsored and directed by Midlands Montessori School. Also, neighbors are welcome and encouraged to join us in the Chickawa for “open mic night” from 5:00-6:30 PM. Please bring your favorite chili, soup, or a side to share and BYOB. Caroling will begin at 6:45 PM. Route is TBD.
Please note: Book club will not meet in December
The book club will be reading for December and January, “Starless Sea” by Erin Morgenstern. Book Club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month.
