October Activities:

Tuesday 10/27 Book Club at the Village Club at 7:30pm
The Book Club’s selection for October is Tell The Wolves I’m Home by novelist Carol Rifka Brunt. This emotionally charged debut novel is told by 14 year old June who gives us a tender story of love lost and found and where compassion can make us whole again. A Wall Street Journal’s “Top 10 Novels of 2012″……surely a must read. Book Club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month……come share your thoughts on the latest book and give ideas on any future reads. Wednesday 10/28 Ladies Bible Study at the Village Club from 7:00-8:30pm

We will be doing a bible study by Melissa Spoelstra titled Jeremiah: Daring to Hope in an Unstable World. Saturday 10/31 Halloween Pizza Party at the Chickawa Outdoor Center from 5-6:30pm
Put on your Halloween Costume and join us for a Pizza Party at the Chickawa Outdoor Center before Trick-or-Treating! RSVP to activities@saludariverclub.com

Monday 11/2 Jr. Women’s Club Meeting at the Village Club 6:30pm
Join the Junior Women’s Club of Lake Murray on Monday, 11/2 at the Village Club. Social time at is at 6:30pm and the business meeting will start at 7 pm. We are a non-profit women’s volunteer organization that aims to better the Lake Murray Community through volunteer service. Please join us as our guest!

Our guest speaker will be the director of Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter in Columbia. This is an emergency shelter for abused or neglected children, or unaccompanied teens, in Richland, Lexington, and Kershaw Counties. This shelter was created by the Junior Women’s Club of Columbia in the 1977. Since the shelter was founded, more than 6,000 children have found a safe, nurturing home at Palmetto Place. Friday 11/6 Baby/Toddler Play Time at the Chickawa Outdoor Center at 10am
Starting Friday 11/6 pack up your baby or toddler, coffee to go, and a few books or toys to share and join the SRC Moms for a playdate at the Chickawa Outdoor Center.

Friday 11/6 Adult Social – FALL EDITION – the Village Club at 7pm
Adult Social is the first Friday of every month at The Village Club. Bring your favorite FALL adult beverage, a snack to share, and mingle with your neighbors!

Sunday 11/8 Mary Elizabeth Photography Mini Sessions on the Riverfront

Thursday 11/12 Ladies Meet and Great at the Village Club at 7pm
Ladies Meet and Great is the second Thursday of every month. This month bring your favorite fall beverage and fall treat to share (please bring recipe cards to share with your neighbors). We will also be collecting canned goods for Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Saturday 11/14 SRC Block Party in the Woodlands District from 12-6pm
Calling all Residents for a Block Party in the Woodlands District on Watershed Lane! Bring your favorite Chili, Side Dish, or Desert to share. We’ll be awarding prizes for each category. We’ll also have football games on projection screens, cornhole, and a craft beer tasting or BYOB! See you there!

Thursday 11/19 Men’s Cards/FOOTBALL Night at the Village Club at 7pm
Men’s Card Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack. We may not decide to play cards, but we’ll be watching FOOTBALL this month!

Sunday 11/22 Holiday Shopping at the Chickawa Outdoor Center at 2pm
Come enjoy an afternoon of shopping in the beautiful rustic setting of Saluda River Club’s Chickawa Outdoor Center. Get in the holiday spirit with some shopping and community camaraderie. Bring the kids and let them play at the craft center while you shop.

Tuesday 11/24 Book Club at the Village Club at 7:30pm

Wear your Team Colors and let’s watch the big game! Bring your favorite adult beverage, a small snack to share, and mingle with your neighbors!

Let’s make the community look great for the Holiday Season! We’ll be giving awards for the Best Holiday Decorating in each District!

Saturday 12/19 Adult Ugly Sweater Party at the Chickawa Outdoor Center at 7pm
