Renee and Paul Street share their thoughts on Saluda River Club
Paul Street is a serious do-it-yourselfer. That’s why his wife Renee was a bit surprised when Paul fell in love with the all-new construction at Saluda River Club.
“Paul’s a fan of the older neighborhoods. He redid our Florida home from top to bottom so I thought a new home with landscaping services provided might not be his thing.” But Paul and Renee found not only convenience, but all the charm they were looking for at Saluda River Club.
The couple moved into the community in August with young daughters Emma Jane and Vivian. Although they had been considering returning home to Florida after Paul finished his graduate degree, they reconsidered once they discovered Saluda River Club.
Good friends from Lexington had already moved in, which gave the Streets the opportunity to sample the lifestyle during visits. They liked what they saw, especially the proximity to outdoor activities.
“Living here is really a unique experience,” says Renee. “We love the Craftsman-style architecture and the distinctive feel of every home.” Kicking around a soccer ball on the Village Green and spending time at the pool are favorite activities.
Family and friends celebrated Vivian’s first birthday with a delightful party at the Chickawa Outdoor Center. “It’s so nice to have such a beautiful facility right in the neighborhood,” notes Renee. She says many of the social gatherings are informal, but she also participates in organized activities like toddler play dates.
Paul is still a fixer-upper at heart. But for now, the Streets are thrilled that their young family is safe and secure in a new and beautiful neighborhood.
