Seth and Sara Krisnow share their thoughts on Saluda River Club
“As soon as you turn into the community you realize there’s something special going on here,” says Seth Krisnow. He and his wife Sara built a home in Saluda River Club and moved into the River District in November.
Sara is a South Carolina native who had her heart set on the Lexington/Columbia area. But Seth is from Richmond, Virginia and needed some time to study the area.
“We did a lot of thinking about where we’d like to settle and raise a family,” says Sara. “I grew up on the river so water was extremely important to me.” Other considerations included proximity to work – Sara works for her family’s chain of country-cooking restaurants and Seth is with a Columbia communications firm. Saluda River Club met all those requirements, and then some.
The Krisnows’ decision to build a home during their engagement led some friends to wonder about their sanity. But with design help from Sara’s dad who is a structural engineer, the couple jumped in and thoroughly enjoyed working with Tammy and Joe Jur of Vesta Builders.
In less than a year, Sara and Seth have become an integral part of the community. They participate in exercise classes, ladies’ night, cooking classes and holiday events. Kicking back on their beautiful screened porch while gazing at Seth’s garden is another favorite activity.
“It’s just so quiet and relaxing to sit here and smell the Sweet Bay Magnolia,” says Seth. “We can picture ourselves at Saluda River Club for many years to come.”
